Outer Storage Spaces
On view Saturdays 12p – 6p and by appointment
July 17 – August 28

For the inaugural exhibition at Secret Dungeon, an artist run project space that itself exists in a storage unit in a garage, we are proud to present three artists who explore how the background noise of popular, visual data is manipulated and reformed in time, space, and effort, as it becomes the information of memory.

How could youthful acceptance of culturally distributed masculine meaning become something more busted and more layered in its sweet brokenness as the imagination ages? How might the frenetic cascade of literal background spaces in television commercials reflect a kind of anthropological heap of discarded signifiers? And how could the raw data of an optical interpretation of the galactic forms of deep space be made more resonant than the pixels might allow on their own?

Addressing the expressive potentials embedded in and around the coded data of popular visual noise, the exhibition Outer Storage Spaces includes sculpture and drawings by Norm Paris, paintings by Lucy Lord Campana, and a video by Zach Nader.
